A Report on the Use of Social Media to Prevent Behavioral Risk Factors Associated with Chronic Disease
Funded by the California Healthcare Foundation, this eHI report examines how social media tools and technologies are being utilized by adults to alleviate mental health conditions and prevent behavioral risk factors associated with chronic disease. The report examines the impact of social media and role of online communities in enhancing health promotion and behavior change efforts targeting wellness, healthy eating, and active living across a variety of settings, including occupational, behavioral, personal, clinical, public, and community health.
Supporting Accountable Care: Critical Information Technology Components
This report was developed by the Accountable Care Council, a multi-stakeholder group led by representatives from eHealth Initiative, Truven Health Analytics, and Humana Inc. in 2013. The report examines how accountable care organization models are approaching health IT infrastructure and capabilities, and the unique challenges and opportunities encountered in different settings.
Executive Advisory Board on Privacy and Security November Issue Brief
eHealth Initiative’s Executive Advisory Board on Privacy and Security convenes c-suite information, privacy and security executives from across the healthcare industry to discuss their top privacy and security concerns and best practices to protect sensitive patient information. On November 12, 2014, representatives of the payer, provider, and pharmaceutical industries and of four federal regulatory agencies gathered in Washington, DC, for the fifth gathering of the Executive Advisory Board on Privacy and Security. The chief information security officers (CISOs), chief privacy officers (CPOs), and other c-suite executives who make up the Advisory Board concentrated on addressing the increasing cybersecurity risks across the healthcare sector.
