GLHC Presents to Council of Data Analytics Experts

Join the next Council of Data Analytics Experts meeting to hear Doug Dietzman, Executive Director of Great Lakes Health Connect (GLHC), the statewide HIE in Michigan. Doug plans to discuss the dual ways of analyzing data, from both “use need” and “organizational need” perspectives. Both of these perspectives utilize the same data, for vastly different purposes. Doug will be sharing their successes and pitfalls along with solutions that they are using to address these concerns as well as offering a few commentary perspectives on the future.

National Council for Behavioral Health to Address Interoperability Workgroup

Colleen O’Donnell, the Policy and Practice Improvement Specialist for The National Council for Behavioral Health addresses the Interoperability workgroup today. She will be presenting on the SAMHSA-HRSA Center of Integrated Health Solutions. The program focuses on the integration of primary care and behavioral health services. Her presentation will focus on the challenges and solutions to privacy and consent issues that the program has identified to support data sharing among providers.

Interoperability Workgroup Meeing

Tiffanie Hickman from the Kansas Health Information Network, and Laura Young from the Behavioral Health Information Network of Arizona will be presenting examples of consent practices for break the glass, patient education, opt-out, opt-in, and 42 CFR Part 2. The Work Group will identify additional consent challenges where examples of practices would be valuable and identify organizations that might be able to provide these types of examples.
