Washington, DC – January 12, 2023 - Today, Executives for Health Innovation (EHI) released the report, Executive Spotlight: A Deep Dive Into Upcoming Cybersecurity Legislation With Healthcare Executives. The report contains insights from an Executive Roundtable panel comprised of leaders, including representatives from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC), Intermountain Healthcare, MedCrypt, Medtronic, Claroty, Office of Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), and UC San Diego Health. The group examined the top legislative concerns driving executives, including new guidance and regulations related to medical devices, healthcare systems, and patient data. In addition, experts dove into the latest draft of the FDA’s Pre-Market Guidance for Medical Device and pending regulations and legislation.
“As cyber-attacks become more frequent, and lives of patients continue to be at risk, it’s more important than ever for cyber and healthcare leaders to communicate and collaboratively strategize,” said Jennifer Covich Bordenick, CEO, Executives for Health Innovation. “The responsibility to find solutions that work for all systems and devices is one shared by every entity within the healthcare ecosystem.”
EHI thanks Booz Allen Hamilton for their generous support in convening and moderating this roundtable and their continued support of our organization’s work addressing cybersecurity challenges in healthcare.
