December's Member Policy Lunch Series will feature Madeline Barter Vey, Policy Coordinator with the Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection and Legislative Counsel to Congressman Robert E. Latta.
Ms.Vey will draw on her experience working on Capitol Hill to discuss:
- Consumer data in the digital age
- The Joint Subcommittee Hearing on Tech Business Practices and Consumer Protection
- The Equifax data breach

Madeline Barter Vey serves as Policy Coordinator with the Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection and Legislative Counsel to Congressman Robert E. Latta. Prior to joining the Congressman, she served as Director, Government Relations, at Van Scoyoc Associates supporting the funding and policy priorities of the firm’s clients.
Previously Ms. Vey worked in the Senate handling water, transportation, and agriculture issues. She also served as a Legislative Assistant in the House of Representatives, specializing in energy, environment, transportation, and agriculture. While working in the House, Ms. Vey was Staff Liaison to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce for her office.
A native of Mobile, Ala., Ms. Vey received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Alabama and her Juris Doctorate at George Mason University School of Law, with a concentration in Regulatory Law. Ms. Vey and her husband, Alek, live on Capitol Hill.
