Verato & Healthix Work Together To Automate Patient Matching

Healthix is using the Verato Universal MPI to automate its data stewardship and improve its patient matching. Using its gamechanging “referential matching” approach, the Verato Universal MPI is automatically resolving millions of Healthix’s most difficult matches, a process that would otherwise require time-consuming manual review by data stewards.

AMA Unveils Alternative Payment Model for the Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder

The American Society of Addiction Medicine and the American Medical Association announced a new alternative payment model and are seeking physicians and insurers interested in joining a pilot test for the treatment of opioid use disorder. The alternative payment model pays for care that includes medications combined with psychosocial support, the most effective means of treating opioid use disorder.

AAFP Asks CMS to require EHR Companies to Provide No-Cost EHR Updates to Physicians

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) recently requested CMS require that EHR vendors provide any new federally-mandated updates to EHR systems free of charge to avoid augmenting the financial burden of EHR system maintenance for physician practices.

CORHIO Applauds ONC for Trying to Create Stronger Interoperability and Fulfill the Goals of Meaningful Use.

CORHIO, IHIE, and CliniSync are ready to take on the challenges of participating in the new ONC health data exchange framework.  Colorado Regional Health Information Organization (CORHIO), and CliniSync of Ohio are interested in taking on the challenge of participating in the voluntary framework and common agreement. Executives at all three HIEs agreed the framework represents a critical step in improving interoperability for providers, patients, and payer organizations.

Hogan Lovells Advises AI Company in Achieving FDA Approval

IDx LLC, with assistance from Hogan Lovells, achieved a major grant of De Novo classification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the novel artificial intelligence-based device IDx-DR. The product is the first device authorized for marketing that detects disease without the need for a clinician to also interpret the image or results, which makes it usable by health care providers who may not normally be involved in eye care.

Healthix Completes Full Integration with Medicaid Data

The availability of Medicaid claims data through the New York Public HIEs has been long anticipated. Back in 2016, NYSDOH selected Healthix and three other New York State RHIOs (Bronx RHIO, Hixny, and HealtheConnections) to participate in the pilot to integrate Medicaid claims data into the HIE. Healthix was the only of the four to pursue a full integration model.
